I Build the Systems That Make the Story Work.

Cultural strategist. Website builder. Singer-songwriter. Teacher. Graduate student. For more than three decades, juliegood.com has been one of the places where all of that work meets in public.

I started building online under my own name in 1995, and that long view still shapes how I work. I help organizations build the digital and communication systems that support the real work, while continuing to publish essays, conversations, and music rooted in the same questions.

This site is the home for that larger body of work: consulting through Good Creative Media, a long-running essay archive, the Good Systems Thinking podcast, recorded speaking, and the music I make with Julie Good & A Dog Named Mike.

Across classrooms, client work, live rooms, streaming platforms, Facebook, LinkedIn, and this site itself, the throughline has stayed the same: thoughtful work, clear systems, and a public life built to last.

How I Work

Three disciplines. One way of working.

Every engagement I take lives at the intersection of strategy, culture, and infrastructure. The work is strongest when those three things are in conversation with each other.

Discipline One

Digital Systems & IMC Strategy

I build WordPress sites, content systems, and digital platforms for organizations that want their communication to be clear, useful, and easier to sustain.

WordPress builds · IMC strategy · content planning · platform design

Discipline Two

Cultural Ecosystem Design

I work with live performance venues, restaurants, theaters, and hospitality concepts as living systems where programming, audience, identity, and revenue need to support one another.

Venue strategy · programming design · audience ecosystem planning

Discipline Three

Public Scholarship & Teaching

Teaching, speaking, and writing have sharpened the same systems thinking that drives the consulting work. Over more than a decade in the classroom, I have learned that good ideas become stronger when they are tested in real conversation.

College instruction · conference speaking · graduate research · long-form essays

The Music

Julie Good & A Dog Named Mike

Americana built on storytelling and structure. The debut EP Coffee Conversations has connected with more than 60,000 listeners across Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, Pandora, and YouTube.

We play live in San Antonio regularly, and the music remains an important part of how I think about audience, meaning, and connection.

The Podcast

Good Systems Thinking

A long-running audio archive about the invisible infrastructure that shapes culture, commerce, and community. Each episode looks at what helps things work, what gets in the way, and what we can learn from both.

It extends the same questions that run through the essays, the classroom, and the consulting work, with room for conversation as well as reflection.
