Research · The Audit
The Online Presence Report.
Most portfolios tell you the work is good. I show the instruments. I audited my own web presence the way I audit a client’s: every number below was fetched and measured, nothing rounded for effect, and the weak spots are printed right next to the strong ones.

Audit Cockpit
The ratios that matter.
The strongest signals are boring in the best way: pages load, canonicals are correct, and the site has a real map. The weaker signals are fixable because they are named, counted, and sitting in public.

Findings · On-Site
The site, measured.
Ten key pages fetched and parsed on June 10, 2026. Infrastructure is healthy: every page resolves, canonicals are clean, and structured data runs deep. The gaps are just as visible: five pages are missing meta descriptions, seven are missing social preview images, and a duplicate title tag ships in the head of every page.
| Page | Status | Meta description | Social preview image | HTML weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| / (home) | 200 | missing | yes | 190 KB |
| /about/ | 200 | 130 ch | yes | 165 KB |
| /cv/ | 200 | missing | missing | 166 KB |
| /music/ | 200 | 114 ch | yes | 162 KB |
| /gcm/ | 200 | 109 ch | yes | 169 KB |
| /imc-machine/ | 200 | missing | missing | 157 KB |
| /essays/ | 200 | 134 ch | missing | 161 KB |
| /contact/ | 200 | 99 ch | missing | 161 KB |
| /press-kit/ | 200 | missing | missing | 154 KB |
| /portfolio/ | 200 | missing | missing | 152 KB |
Also measured: a duplicate title tag in the head of all ten pages, zero font preloads sitewide, and only four image tags total across all ten pages. Structured data is a genuine strength: a sitewide JSON-LD graph covering Person, Organization, MusicGroup, and credential entities.
Findings · Off-Site
The social footprint, as the public sees it.
These are the numbers any visitor or hiring committee can see today, pulled from each platform’s own public preview data. No logins, no insider dashboards, and no flattery.
| Platform | Profile | Publicly visible numbers (June 10, 2026) |
|---|---|---|
| facebook.com/goodjulie | 2,425 page likes | |
| @juliegoodjuliegood | 587 followers · 55 posts | |
| linkedin.com/in/goodjulie | 1,000+ followers | |
| YouTube | @juliegood | 1 subscriber · 0 videos in the public feed |
| Spotify | Julie Good (artist) | 2 monthly listeners |
Counts behind logins (LinkedIn followers, Facebook followers, Spotify followers, engagement rates) are taken directly from each platform and labeled as reported when platform context is required.
Analysis
SWOT, grounded in the numbers above.
Every line in this analysis traces to a measured figure. That is the standard I hold client audits to, so it is the standard this page gets.
Strengths
- Full availability: ten of ten key pages serve HTTP 200 with clean, correct canonicals.
- Deep structured data: a sitewide entity graph (Person, Organization, MusicGroup, credentials) that most personal sites never build.
- Broad surface: 72 indexed URLs across music, design, teaching, essays, and consulting.
- A real multi-property footprint: goodcreativemedia.com, imcmachine.com, and thedakotasa.com all live and serving.
Weaknesses
- Five of ten key pages missing meta descriptions; seven of ten missing social preview images.
- A duplicate title tag ships on every page.
- A nearly empty visual layer: four image tags total across the ten key pages.
- YouTube and Spotify are effectively dormant in public view: one subscriber, zero feed videos, two monthly listeners.
Opportunities
- The preview-image and meta-description gaps are cheap, measurable wins, and they are already on this week’s fix list below.
- Zero font preloads means performance left on the table.
- Facebook (2,425) and Instagram (587) are proven audiences that can be routed to this site.
- YouTube and Spotify are claimed, branded, and blank: a clean canvas, not a salvage job.
Threats
- Public zeros are visible to anyone who looks before the story is told: the audit found them, so a committee can too. Printing them here is the counter.
- Raw HTML payloads of 152 to 190 KB per page with a uniform 24-script load. Real-world speed is unverified until a lab run.
- All five essays share one publish date. Cadence is the difference between an archive and a feed.
The Punch List
What this audit is already fixing.
An audit that does not change the work is a screenshot. These items came straight out of the findings above and are being shipped as part of this site’s redesign.
- 01Deduplicate the title tag on every page.
- 02Write meta descriptions for the five key pages missing them.
- 03Add social preview images to the seven pages that share with no card.
- 04Preload the display and body fonts.
- 05Build the visual layer the page weight already paid for: real images, properly sized, lazy-loaded, with alt text.
Methodology · June 10, 2026
How every number was obtained.
All measurements were taken on June 10, 2026 with scripted public fetches: no logins, no cookies, no private dashboards. Site figures come from the live sitemap and the saved HTML of ten key pages, parsed for status codes, tags, and byte counts.
Performance figures are static-analysis proxies (HTML weight, script counts, preload counts), not lab Core Web Vitals. A browser lab run is the next instrument.
Social figures come from each platform’s own public link-preview metadata, the same data any link unfurler receives, plus YouTube’s public channel data and feed. Anything behind a login is marked not measured in the source data.
This is the same audit I run for clients, pointed at myself, published with the findings intact. That is the assignment: research, create, build, embed, publish.
